Detailed Day Wise Itinerary
-
Day 1: Fes » Middle Atlas » Ziz Valley » Merzouga Desert » Camel trek[470Km]
After breakfast at your riad or hotel in Fes, our desert tour starts as we say goodbye to the old, medieval city and set our course for a new part of Morocco. We'll pass through the Middle Atlas Mountains, making a quick pit stop in Ifrane, known as "Little Switzerland" and Morocco's first ski resort. The views of mountains and plains along the way are simply breathtaking.
As we continue, you'll get a chance to meet a unique bunch of local monkeys called "Maggot monkeys" in Azrou. They live in the cedar woods and can number over 30 in one big family. For lunch, we'll take a break in Midelt, a place known for its annual apple festival. The scenery changes a lot as we drive through Ziz Valley on our way to Erfoud, often called the gateway to the Sahara.
Once we reach Merzouga, you'll switch to a traditional mode of transport, a camel. These friendly creatures will take you to the highest sand dune in Erg Chebbi, where you can relax, take some great photos, and even try a bit of sandboarding. The day ends with an overnight stay at a Berber camp under the starry night sky.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert » Todra gorges » Rose Valley » Ait Benhaddou » Marrakech[268Km]
On the second day of your 2-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech, we recommend waking up early to catch the beautiful sunrise. After that, enjoy a tasty breakfast and a refreshing shower before setting off on your camel ride back to where we first met.
Our journey will take a different path to Marrakech, passing through the traditional irrigation system still used in the El Jorf oasis. We'll make a stop in Tinejdad, and then it's time for a delightful lunch in the scenic Todra Valley. This valley is one of Morocco's oldest and has a rich history of caravan trading, even where the first Moroccan silver coins were minted. It's a 15-kilometer-long valley filled with date palms and ends with stunning Gorges, popular for rock climbing and picnics.
Next, we'll venture through the Dades Valley, where you'll be awed by the incredible rock formations shaped by millions of years of erosion. As we pass through the Rose Valley, you'll learn about the unique production of Damascus roses, from which we extract products like rose water and oil, perfect for skin care.
Our journey continues to Ouarzazate, known as the Moroccan Hollywood. Here, you can admire the Taourirt Kasbah, an exquisite example of Berber architecture made from clay and straw, as well as the cinema studio. Don't forget to snap some pictures of the ancient Ait Benhaddou village, a place that has seen many famous movies filmed there, from "Lawrence of Arabia" to "Games of Thrones". It's also a UNESCO-listed site, recognized for its cultural significance.
Lastly, we'll visit the impressive Telouet Kasbah, a historic fortress built by Thami Pasha, the lord of the Atlas. It used to be a bustling caravan trading hub. To reach Marrakech, we'll drive through the scenic High Atlas Mountains, taking the breathtaking Tizi N'Tichka road, surrounded by red mountains and Berber villages. We'll drop you off at your Marrakech accommodation, marking the end of our 2-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech via the Merzouga Sahara desert.
