Detailed Day Wise Itinerary
-
Day 1: Casablanca » Rabat » Meknes » Azrou » Midelt[416Km]
After having breakfast at your hotel, our driver will come to pick you up around 7 or 8 AM. We'll hit the road, taking the highway to Meknes, a different part of Morocco. On the way, we'll pass through Rabat, which is the current capital of Morocco. We'll make a quick stop to see some cool stuff in the city, like the Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of the Udayas.
Once we're in Meknes, you'll have some free time for lunch near El Hedim Square. After that, we can take a stroll in this lovely square and check out the big Mansour Dahbi gate. Next, we'll drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, and you'll be treated to some amazing views of mountains and plains. You might even spot a special kind of native monkey called the Maggot monkey in Azrou - they live in cedar woods, and sometimes you can see up to 30 of them in one family.
In the late afternoon, we'll reach Midelt, where we'll spend the night in a hotel or riad.
-
Day 2: Midelt » Errachidia » Ziz Valley » Erfoud » Merzouga[263Km]
After having breakfast at your accommodation in Midelt, we're off to Merzouga today. The landscapes change a lot on the way, especially when we drive through Ziz Valley to reach Erfoud, which is like the gateway to the Sahara. You can take a turban for your desert experience. We'll also pass through Rissani, and by around 3 or 4 PM, we'll arrive in Merzouga.
At that point, we'll switch to riding camels to head to your desert camp, where you'll get to see the beautiful sunset. You'll be spending the night in a Berber desert camp, so get ready for a unique desert experience.
-
Day 3: Merzouga » Todra Gorges » Dades Gorges » Ouarzazate » Marrakech[566Km]
After you've had your breakfast at the camp, we'll leave the Sahara desert behind and head towards an old irrigation system still used in the oasis of Jorf. We'll make a stop on the way to Tinejdad. For lunch, we'll be in the Todra Valley, which is one of the oldest valleys in Morocco and was once an important place for trade caravans. They even used to make Moroccan money out of silver here. The valley is about 15 kilometers long and is full of date palms, leading to some impressive Gorges that are perfect for rock climbing and picnics.
Then, we'll head to the Dades Valley, known for its remarkable rock formations formed by millions of years of erosion. We'll also pass through the Rose Valley, which is the only place in Morocco where they harvest Damascus roses. From these roses, they make products like rose water and rose oil, which are great for your skin and can help with wrinkles.
Ouarzazate is famous for the Taourirt Kasbah, which is a true representation of Berber architecture, made from clay and straw. It's also a major spot for the film industry. Once we arrive at Ait Benhaddou village, we'll take a walk to explore this ancient place. It's been a setting for many movies, like "Lawrence of Arabia", "Jesus of Nazareth", and "Gladiator", and is even a UNESCO World Heritage site.
After that, we'll continue our journey to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains, taking the spectacular Tizi N'Tichka road. It's a beautiful route with red mountains and Berber villages along the way. By late evening, we'll arrive in Marrakech and drop you off at your place. That's the end of our trip together.
