Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

  • Day 1: Ouarzazate » Oasis of Skoura » Kelaat M'Gouna » Dades Gorges[133Km]

After having breakfast, you start your journey towards the Dades Gorges, passing by the Skoura Oasis. Here, you'll find many ancient kasbahs, some sadly in ruins, scattered among the palm trees.

Next on the route is Kelaat M'Gouna, the Valley of Roses, famous for its Rose Festival in May. Take a break here to check out the local cosmetic products made from the valley's abundant flowers, which are widely known and highly valued across Morocco.

To get a better feel for the landscape, you'll take an off-road route, making stops at caves that Berber nomads use when passing through. Enjoy a cup of tea with them before heading to the Dades Gorges for lunch.

With the rest of the day, you can explore the valley, relax, take a stroll by the fields and gardens, or share tea with a Berber family.

  • Day 2: Dades Gorges » Todra Gorges » Erfoud » Rissani » Merzouga Desert[278Km]

After having breakfast, the journey continues a short distance to Tinghir and the unique Todra Gorges. Here, you can take a short walk to admire the steep sides of the gorge and the narrow expanse of the sky above. After that, the trip heads to the Erg Chebbi dunes through Tinjdad and the Oasis of Tafilalet near Erfoud, known for its Date Festival. Rissani, the seat of the Alaouite family of the present king of Morocco, is also on the route.

Between Tinjdad and Erfoud, you can make a stop to explore the fascinating underground water channels deep below the earth, always cool and preventing the evaporation of this source of irrigation. In Erfoud, there's an opportunity to see the workings of thousands of fossils turned into various artifacts. Lunch will be in a Berber village along the way.

Upon reaching the bivouac, you'll be welcomed with a glass of tea before enjoying a camel ride to watch the sunset from the top of the dunes. Later, there's dinner and a night's stay in a nomad tent at the foot of the dunes.

  • Day 3: Merzouga Desert » Tazzarine » Draa Valley » Nkob[253Km]

If you wake up early, you can catch the amazing sight of the sunrise when the dunes change color, and the shadows create a beautiful display. The journey then continues to the Draa Valley, passing through the village of Tazzarine (seen in the movie "Babel"), and heading to Nkob for lunch. In the afternoon, we travel to Tansikht to follow the ancient caravan route and explore the authentic Draa Valley with its large palm trees and old villages. As the day winds down, we make a stop in Agdz for the night in a kasbah.

  • Day 4: Nkob » Taznakht » Taliouine » Taroudant » Agadir[426Km]

After having breakfast, we head northwest from Agdz to Taznakht, known for its Berber kelims and carpets. Along the way, we pass through beautiful landscapes and the Bouazzer mines, exploring a quieter part of the country that's a bit off the usual tourist path.

Later, we continue west to Agadir, crossing the Tizi N'Ikhsane and Tizi N'Tighatine passes. We stopped for lunch in Taliouine, the main area for growing saffron in Morocco, where there's a small museum about saffron cultivation.

In the afternoon, the road takes us back to Taroudant, following the often dry Souss River and passing numerous argan trees on the hillsides. We reach Agadir by the end of the afternoon, concluding our 4-day tour from Ouarzazate to Agadir via Merzouga.
