You'll take a quick tour of Taroudant Medina, explore the souks, check out the city walls, and more. The journey then continues to Taliouine, known as the saffron capital, where you'll enjoy lunch with a view of Kasbah El Glaoui.
In the afternoon, the adventure moves on to the ancient fort of Agdz, a historic rest stop for old caravans. Later, you'll travel through the wonders of the Draa Valley, home to the longest river in the kingdom and the world's largest palm grove. Your day concludes with an overnight stay in Agdz.
-
Day 2: Agdz » N'Kob » Alnif » Rissani » Merzouga[299Km]
After enjoying breakfast at your riad/hotel, your journey kicks off with a visit to the pre-Saharan oases and fortified Ksours. Next, you'll hit the road to explore the villages of N'Kob, Tazzarine, and Alnif, where you'll pause for lunch. As you continue, Rissani awaits, known as the birthplace of the Alawite dynasty. Here, you'll visit the mausoleum of its founder and the former Rissani ksar, Abdel Halim, before finally reaching the enchanting golden dunes of Merzouga. Your night will be spent in a traditional hotel/Kasbah in Merzouga.
-
Day 3: Merzouga visit - Nomads - Khamlia - Camel ride
After breakfast, your adventure in the Merzouga desert begins with a 4x4 tour of the nearby Berber village. You'll experience genuine desert life, hear its music, and explore the Khamlia village and the historic M'Fiss mines. In the afternoon, hop on a camel for a trek to spend a memorable night under the clear sky and nomadic tents in a desert camp—an opportunity to connect with your inner self. Your overnight stay will be in a Berber camp.
-
Day 4: Merzouga » Todra Gorges » Dades Gorges » Ouarzazate[405Km]
Experience the magic of a desert sunrise during your stay in the middle of the dunes. Waking up early is a must to witness the breathtaking sunrise from a high dune near the camp. Take in the natural beauty around you before enjoying a hearty breakfast. Afterward, you'll ride camels back to the same spot where you started your desert adventure (optional car return available).
Next on our journey is the historical town of Rissani, the birthplace of the Alaouite Dynasty, which ruled Morocco over 350 years ago. Explore the vibrant marketplace on market days (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). We then continue to Erfoud, where you can visit fossilized marble manufacturers before heading to the picturesque Touroug and Tinejdad palm groves.
An hour later, we'll arrive at one of the High Atlas's gems, the Todra Gorges. The river's course has carved a stunning canyon with towering rock sides, making it a popular spot for climbers. After freshening up, we'll travel to Ouarzazate, famously known as Hollywood Africa. This city has served as the backdrop for renowned movies such as "Gladiator", "The Mummy", "Kingdom of Heaven", and "Prince of Persia". Spend the night in Ouarzazate.
-
Day 5: Ouarzazate » Ait Benhaddou » High Atlas Mountains » Marrakech[212Km]
After breakfast, our journey to the red city of Marrakech begins. Our initial stop is the renowned fortified Ksar of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987. From there, we'll drive past the well-known Kasbah of Telouet, once the residence of Thami El Glaoui, the infamous warlord of the Atlas Mountains. Although the exterior appears weathered, the interior is lavishly decorated, offering a glimpse into the warlord's opulent life.
Continuing our route, we'll pass through the Tizi N'Tichka Pass, one of Morocco's breathtaking roads. This 5-day desert trip from Agadir can conclude either back in Agadir or Marrakech, based on your preferences and requirements.
