Day 1: Casablanca » Rabat » Meknes » Azrou » Midelt[416Km]
Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Casablanca at about 8:00 a.m. to start your journey to Meknes. Meknes, which was built by Sultan Moulay Ismael in the 18th century, is known for its beautiful gates, mosques, and schools. In Meknes, you will get to see the impressive Sahrij Swani granary, which was used to store food and water for the sultan's army.
We can also visit the sultan's mausoleum, which has a lovely Arab-Andalusian design. Don't miss the impressive Bab Mansour gate. Just 30 kilometers away from Meknes, we'll find Volubilis, an ancient Roman archaeological site that's well-preserved and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997. You'll be amazed by the mosaic art, Latin inscriptions, and historical artifacts.
Leaving Meknes, we'll head to another part of Morocco, passing through the Middle Atlas Mountains. You'll be surrounded by stunning mountains and plain landscapes. Keep an eye out for a unique type of native monkey called the Maggot monkey that lives in the cedar woods in Azrou. These monkeys usually live in families with over 30 members. Finally, we'll make our way to Midelt, which is famous for its apples, and spend the night in the Midelt area.
-
Day 2: Midelt » Errachidia » Ziz Valley » Erfoud » Merzouga[263Km]
After having breakfast at your hotel or riad, your journey to the Sahara desert begins. You'll pass through the Middle Atlas Mountains with plenty of stops for taking pictures. The landscapes change a lot, especially when we drive through the Ziz Valley on the way to Erfoud, which is the gateway to the Sahara and then to Merzouga.
If you happen to visit on the weekly market day, you can explore small shops and get a glimpse of how the local people live. Afterward, you'll continue your journey to the Merzouga Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, you'll experience a camel trek and spend the night in a Berber nomad camp. You'll also have the chance to enjoy a breathtaking sunset from the golden sand dunes. You'll spend the night in a Berber camp located within the dunes area.
-
Day 3: Merzouga » Todra Gorges » Dades Gorges » Roses Valley » Ouarzazate[473Km]
After you've had your breakfast, we'll say goodbye to the Sahara and make our way to the ancient irrigation system still in use in the Jorf oasis. Along the journey, we'll take a break in Tinejdad. Lunchtime will find us in the Todra Valley, which is one of the oldest valleys in Morocco, known for its history of caravan trade and even the creation of the first Moroccan silver coins.
This valley stretches for about 15 kilometers, lined with date palms, and ends with stunning gorges, which are popular for rock climbing and picnics. We'll then continue to the Dades Valley, known for its incredible rock formations shaped by millions of years of erosion. Next, we'll pass through the Rose Valley, the only place in Morocco where we gather Damascus roses. From these roses, we make products like rose water and rose oil, which are great for skincare and reducing wrinkles. Finally, we'll stay overnight in Ouarzazate.
-
Day 4: Ouarzazate » Ait Benhaddou » Telouet Kasbah » Marrakech[43Km]
The next morning in this movie-like city, there are two places to explore. First, there's the Taourirt Kasbah, a genuine example of Berber architecture made from clay and straw. Then, we have the cinema studio.
When we arrive at the Ait Benhaddou village, we'll take a walk to visit this ancient place. It's a historic village with a long list of movie credits, starting with famous films like "Lawrence of Arabia", "Jesus of Nazareth", and "Gladiator", and the list continues. UNESCO also recognized it as a site of global and national cultural significance back in 1987.
After that, we'll head to the impressive Telouet Kasbah, a strong fort built by Thami Pasha, the ruler of the Atlas mountains. It used to be a major trading center for caravans. Finally, we'll journey to the northern part of the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N'Tichka pass (at 2260 meters above sea level). This road offers stunning views of red mountains and Berber villages, leading us to Marrakech.

Day 5: Marrakech sightseeing » Casablanca[73Km]
For the city tour in Marrakech, you'll be guided by a local. First, you'll explore the Bahia Palace, a place with beautiful mosaics and stucco work, and you'll hear interesting stories about the person who built it, Bahmad, and his 4 wives and 24 concubines. Then, you'll visit the remarkable Saadian Tombs, which are ancient royal burial grounds from the 17th century.
You'll also have a great time in Marrakech's famous markets, known as souks. These markets are filled with different scents, colors, and all sorts of items, and you'll be amazed by how big they are. Another stop is Jack Majorelle's garden, a tranquil place in the Ville Nouvelle, where you can see various plants from around the world. The garden's walls are painted in a striking indigo blue.
Your tour will end at Jamaa El-Fna Square, a lively place with snake charmers, monkeys, food stalls, and musicians. It's the most vibrant square in Marrakech. After the Marrakech visit, you'll have lunch and then begin your last day back to Casablanca, marking the end of your 5-day tour exploring Morocco's imperial cities and the Sahara desert.
