Detailed Day Wise Itinerary
-
Day 1: Arrival in Fes » Transfer to the hotel/riad
We'll be there to pick you up from the airport when you arrive, and we'll make sure to get you to your riad or hotel. If you arrive in Fes early in the day, you can even check out a ceramic factory that the city is known for. Then, we'll swing by the main gate of the old medina so you can snap a photo of the famous Bab Boujloud Gate. You'll spend the night in Fes.
-
Day 2: Fes » Azrou » Ziz Valley » Erfoud » Merzouga Desert[482Km]
Once you've had your breakfast at the riad or hotel, we're off to explore the southeast, tracing the old caravan routes to the Merzouga Sahara desert. Along the way, you'll get to see a bit of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. We'll make stops in Ifrane and the Cedar forest in Azrou, which is the biggest one in Morocco and even home to some wild monkeys.
After lunch in Midelt, we'll keep going through the wide-open high desert, and you'll see how the landscape changes as you get closer to Errachidia. Our 6-day tour from Fes to Marrakech continues through the lush Ziz Valley and the Tafilalet date palm grove, famous for growing dates. This area is pretty special because it's where the Alaouite dynasty, which is the current royal family in Morocco, got its start.
By late afternoon, you'll reach the Merzouga Sahara desert. You'll be welcomed with a refreshing glass of mint tea before you settle into your riad. You'll be spending the night in Merzouga.
-
Day 3: Merzouga area » Rissani Market » Erg Chebbi » Camel trek[50Km]
After you've had your breakfast at the riad, it's time to set off on an exciting journey to explore the area. First, you'll visit the Gnawa nomadic people, who were originally brought from Sudan. You'll get to hear their music and see how they live. You might also want to check out the souk in Rissani, a traditional town that's where the ruling family of Morocco originally came from. It used to be a hub for trade caravans that went all the way to Tombouctou in Mali. You'll notice that many people there wear hoods or veils.
After all that exploring, you'll head back to the village of Merzouga for some relaxation. In the afternoon, you'll hop on a camel, led by an experienced camel guide, to explore the sandy sea of Merzouga. Your overnight stay will be in a desert camp (also called a bivouac), and you'll have a delicious dinner there. Plus, they've got Western-style bathrooms for your comfort. Enjoy your night at the Berber Camp!
-
Day 4: Merzouga Desert » Todra Gorges » Dades Gorges » Rose Valley » Ouarzazate[364Km]
Early in the morning, while it's still dark, your camel guide will gently wake you up. You won't want to miss this - it could be the most amazing sunrise you've ever seen. After the sunrise, you'll have your breakfast and freshen up at the Berber camp. Then, it's time to trek back to the village of Merzouga. On the way, you'll get to see the stunning Erg Chebbi sand dunes. They look different as the day goes on and the light changes.
Next, we'll head to Rissani, Tinghir, and the Todra Gorges. These gorges are the tallest and narrowest in all of Morocco. After having lunch right in the heart of the Todra Gorges, we'll make our way through the Boulmane Dades Valley, which is known for its many cool Kasbahs. You'll have lots of chances to take some of the best photos of the whole trip.
We'll also make a stop in Kalaat M'Gouna, which is known as "the rose city", and you can pick up some rosewater. Your stuff will smell lovely long after the 6-day tour from Fes to Marrakech is over. Our journey continues to Ouarzazate city, where we'll spend the night. Rest up for more adventures!
-
Day 5: Ouarzazate » Ait Benhaddou Kasbah » Tizi N'Tichka Pass » Marrakech[212Km]
Right after breakfast at your accommodation, our next destination is the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, where we'll check out the famous Kasbah. This place is extra special because it's been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986, and they've even filmed some big movies here like Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, The Jewel of the Nile, and Sahara with Penélope Cruz.
Once we're done exploring the Kasbah, we're heading to Marrakech. We'll drive through the Tizi N'Tichka pass, which is the highest point in our country at 2260 meters. You'll get to see some awesome views from the lookouts along the way, and we'll make a few stops so you can capture some great memories and pictures of the small Berber villages.
By late afternoon, we'll check in at your hotel or riad in Marrakech. You'll spend the night in Marrakech. Rest up and enjoy your time in the city!

Day 6: Marrakech city tour » Transfer to the airport
After having breakfast at your accommodation, we're off on the final day of our 6-day tour from Fes to Marrakech. You'll be joined by a local guide who will make your day extra special. They'll take you on a fantastic trip around Marrakech, and you'll get to visit the old Medina, Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, Majorelle Gardens, and the famous El-Fna Square. This square is where you can see storytellers, snake charmers, monkey charmers, and Henna Women. There are also other cool historical sites to explore.
When you've seen all the amazing sights, we'll make sure you get to the airport 2 hours before your flight. That's the end of our 6-day desert tour Fes to Marrakech. We hope you had a great time!
