Detailed Day Wise Itinerary
-
Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca » Rabat » Meknes[239Km]
After we pick you up from your Casablanca hotel or upon your arrival, we'll head to the Hassan II Mosque, a major sight in Casablanca open to everyone. It's a special place showcasing Moorish influences, constructed by King Hassan II from 1987 to 1993. The mosque can hold 25 thousand people inside and 80 thousand in the square.
Then, we'll journey to Rabat to explore some historical sites like Chellah, a charming spot blending Roman and Merinid remains. There's the Hassan Tower and the impressive Mausoleum of Mohammed V to visit. After Rabat, we'll move on to Meknes, a city known for its lovely gates, mosques, and madrasas, built by Sultan Moulay Ismail in the 18th century. We'll spend the night in Meknes.
-
Day 2: Meknes » Volubilis » Fes[96Km]
The next morning, after enjoying breakfast, we started our tour of Meknes. We'll check out Sahrij Swani, a granary used by Sultan Moulay Ismail to store food and water for his "black Army". The sultan's mausoleum, with its Arab-Andalusian style, is worth a visit. We'll also take a look at the impressive Bab Mansour gate. Just 30 km away from Meknes, we'll explore Volubilis, a well-preserved Roman archaeological site listed by UNESCO. You'll find astonishing mosaics, lots of Latin inscriptions, and artistic relics. Our trip for the day wraps up in Fes.
-
Day 3: Fes Sightseeing [Sightseeing Guided Day Tour]
After your breakfast, you'll meet up with our local guide in Fes. Get ready to wander through the old medieval medina of Fes, the first imperial city. It's like a maze with over 9000 narrow streets, making it the intellectual and cultural hub of the kingdom. As you stroll through, you'll be surrounded by bustling people, vibrant colors, and donkeys carrying goods. Fes is known for its handmade items and traditional crafts, using materials passed down through the ages. Don't miss the famous tanneries where locals work on goat, lamb, camel, and cow skins in small pits. Treat yourself to some special dishes from Fes cuisine. For a fantastic view, head to the southern tower of Fes, and don't forget to visit the pottery cooperative where they make beautiful tiles and Moroccan mosaics. Alternatively, you could wrap up your day with an entertaining dinner show featuring belly dancers.
-
Day 4: Fes » Ifrane » Azrou » Midelt » Merzouga Desert[477Km]
We're saying goodbye to old Fes and heading to a different part of Morocco, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. We'll take a short break in Ifrane, also known as the "small Switzerland" and the first ski resort in Morocco. Surrounded by stunning mountains and plain landscapes, you'll spot a special bunch of native monkeys, the Maggot monkeys, in the cedar woods near Azrou.
After a lunch break in Midelt, famous for its annual apple festival, we'll experience a dramatic change in scenery as we drive through Ziz Valley to reach Erfoud, the gateway to the Sahara. Here, you can grab a turban for your desert adventure. Passing through Rissani, we'll reach Merzouga around 3 or 4 PM. Then, we'll switch to camel transport to start your desert experience, watching the sunset from your desert camp. You'll spend the night in a cozy Berber desert camp.
-
Day 5: Merzouga » Todra Gorges » Dades Gorges » Skoura » Ouarzazate[405Km]
After you've had your breakfast, we'll leave the Sahara desert and make our way to the old irrigation system still used in the Jorf oasis. We'll take a break in Tinejdad along the way. Lunch will be in the Todra Valley, known as one of the oldest trading routes in Morocco where the first Moroccan money, made from silver, originated. This 15km valley filled with date palms concludes with stunning gorges, a popular spot for rock climbing and picnics.
Our journey continues through the Dades Valley, showcasing remarkable rock formations shaped by millions of years of erosion. We'll also pass through the Rose Valley, the sole place in Morocco where Damascus roses are harvested. Here, we extract products like rose water and rose oil, great for skin care and combating wrinkles. We'll spend the night in Ouarzazate.
-
Day 6: Ouarzazate » Ait Benhaddou » Telouet » Marrakech[205Km]
The next morning in this movie-like city, there are two places to check out. The Taourirt Kasbah is a genuine example of Berber architecture, crafted from clay and straw, and the cinema studio. When we arrive at the Ait Benhaddou village, we'll take a stroll to explore this ancient place. It's a historic village with a long list of movie credits, starting from classics like "Lawrence of Arabia", "Jesus of Nazareth", and "Gladiator", continuing to this day. UNESCO even recognized it as a site of global and national cultural significance in 1987.
After that, we'll head to the impressive Telouet Kasbah, a fort stronghold built by Thami Pasha, the lord of the Atlas, and once a bustling caravan trading center. Our journey continues north through the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi N'Tichka (2260m), offering a spectacular view of red mountains and Berber villages, until we reach Marrakech. Night in Marrakech.
